Steele trap
DONALD TRUMP is facing fresh humiliation in his failed decade-long lawfare campaign against ex-MI6 officer Christopher Steele, whose salacious dossiers were at the heart of the 2017 Russia-gate controversy.
As the Eye went to press, officials from Trump’s Turnberry Golf Club in Ayrshire were facing the prospect of being dragged before the sheriff’s court in Ayr this week and being forced to cough up the £750,000 or so the US president now owes Steele in court costs.
Last February the high court in London threw out Trump’s claim that Steele’s two supposedly secret dossiers for the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign, which included allegations of bribery and cavorting with call girls while on a trip to Moscow, contained inaccuracies and breached his rights under the Data Protection Act (Eye 1610).
