SEVERAL public bodies might want to check out the little known IT firm to which they have begun handing taxpayer money.
Among the recent wins for VE3 Global Ltd is a £3m contract to create a “fuel finder” application for the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Competition authorities had found profiteering on petrol forecourts and the “fuel finder” is meant to help drivers find cheaper prices – even though several commercial apps do something similar already. A month ago, the company was awarded a £7m, five-year deal by HM Revenue and Customs for a “basic PAYE tool and paper capture tool” to “support employers with nine or fewer employees to manage their payroll and calculate tax”. And in March, VE3 Global was put on the Post Office’s “digital capabilities framework”.
