Check the weather in the new Met Office widgets
One of the biggest improvements in the revamped Met Office Weather Forecast app (Android www. snipca.com/57718; iOS www.snipca. com/57719) is to its widgets. These have been redesigned to provide clear daily or hourly forecasts on the home screen of your phone or tablet, without you needing to open the app first.
To add the widgets to your Android device, long-press your home screen and tap Widgets. Swipe down to the Met Office section, press the Daily or Hourly widget, and drag it to a suitable position on your screen.
Tap ‘Use current location’ ( 1 in our screenshot below left) then Continue and allow the Met Office to use your current location all the time. Drag the widget’s borders 2 to enlarge it and view more info. Tap it to open the Met Office app.
On an iPhone or iPad, long-press your screen and tap Edit, then Add Widget. Select ‘Met Office’, find the Daily or Hourly widget, and press Add Widget. Tap ‘Allow’ to grant the Met Office access to your location.
