‘12,000 EE points’ text
I’m an EE customer, so my eyes were caught by a text telling me I had over 12,000 ‘EE points’ that I could redeem to claim ‘exciting rewards’. That was news to me. I had no recollection of ever earning EE points. I contacted EE to ask and they said it was a scam, so it was a good job I hadn’t tapped the link in the message. It uses the typical trick of false urgency, saying these points are about to ‘expire’. I had only three days left apparently. It also said gifts are supplied on a ‘first-come, first-served basis’.
