CLAIMING it will “deliver for working people”, Keir Starmer and health secretary Wes Streeting jointly launched their Elective Reform Plan (ERP) earlier this month to increase the number of operations paid for by the NHS but carried out in a private hospital. Unsurprisingly, representatives of the private health industry have welcomed this move – and some of the key figures have links to Streeting’s recently appointed adviser Alan Milburn.
