In recognition of his services to the Gaelic language over the past 50 years, both locally and nationally, the wellknown and popular Freddie Mackenzie was presented recently with a special medallion by Comunn Gaidhealach an Obain.
The medallion was presented at a ceilidh in Freddie’s honour at which £500 was raised and Freddie nominated the Friends of Oban Hospice, which supports the Dove Centre, as the charity he would wish the money to go to.
Freddie is was photographed with the chairman of Comunn Gaidhealach an Obain, Martin Wilson, who handed over a cheque on his behalf to Iain MacIntyre, chairman of the Friends.
