An electrician from Roy Bridge was banned from driving for a year and ned £600 after he admitted a drink-driving offence at Fort William Sheriff Court last week.
Daniel Scott Cockburn, of the village’s Mulroy Terrace, who had no defence agent and represented himself, pleaded guilty that on September 29 on the A86 road between Roy Bridge and Roughburn, he drove a car with a breath alcohol reading of 74mgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath.
Procurator scal Matthew Kerr told Sheriff Eilidh MacDonald that police had been alerted and traced Cockburn’s vehicle at about 10pm on the day in question. The accused’s vehicle was swerving all over the road before it stopped,’ said Mr Kerr.
